In winter, it is really enjoyable in the garden. With the right plants, you will have a beautiful, colourful garden even during the cold months. Also be sure to make it an animal-friendly environment. This will ensure that both you and the animals enjoy the winter garden to the fullest.

Create an animal-friendly winter garden
In colder temperatures, we are looking for warmth. Animals do this too. Give the animals a helping hand and create an animal-friendly garden. How? Leave leaves and create some messy corners in the garden. These spots are a paradise for hedgehogs and toads, among others. You can also build or buy your own hedgehog house in which they can hibernate. Leave fallen fruit from fruit trees and shrubs in the garden. These fruits serve as meals for various animal species. So be sure to leave garden waste. Nature is grateful to you.

Birds bring cheer to the winter garden. So be sure to hang some bird feed in your garden. Birds fly a set route every day in search of food. As soon as you place bird feed in the garden, your garden is added to this set route. So you see the same birds in the garden every day.

Winter colours in the garden
With the right plants and flowers, your garden will be breathtakingly beautiful in winter. It is simply a matter of putting the right plants and flowers in the garden. Red, pink, yellow, it's all possible. Even in the winter months. When other plants are hibernating, Helleborus, for example, blooms beautifully. Winter jasmine and plants with striking berries also make for a beautiful, colourful winter garden. Supplement the garden with plants and shrubs that stay nice and green all year round. You will enjoy this in both winter and summer.

A cosy lounge area
Enjoying your beautiful, colourful winter garden is of course done from a lovely lounge area. This can be inside from the room window, but sitting outside is much more fun. A veranda with glass sliding doors lets you enjoy your winter garden to the fullest. Nice and warm indoors, yet still in nature. Unwind in your own winter spa
Having your own spa in your garden is truly enjoyable. Opt for your own sauna, for example. A great way to warm up when the outside temperature is cold. Let your body temperature drop afterwards in the open air. Very good for your health and a great way to completely unwind.

A jacuzzi is also great in winter. Heat the water to a temperature of around 38 to 40 degrees. This will keep you nice and warm in the cold outdoor temperatures. Lay out a warm bathrobe and enjoy a hot drink under the veranda afterwards. Don't have space for your own home spa? Then go visit a spa instead.
