Construction kit

Description

When fitting glass sliding doors under a veranda, you will need sealant to seal screws watertight. This kit is included as standard with a Gumax® veranda, but is not included with a set of glass sliding doors.

Assemble the sliding doors yourself. Please bear in mind that there should be a foundation on which to place the sliding doors. Most terrace tiles are not strong enough to act as foundations. Tuinmaximaal recommends using the foundation columns below.

Foundation

Description

Before installing a Gumax® glass sliding door, it is important that the ground on which the doors are to be placed has a foundation and is level. Tuinmaximaal recommends installing foundation beams for this purpose if the tiling can be removed from your terrace.

When ordering this product, you will receive a foundation column including paving stones and fixing materials. Using the paving stones, you lay the foundation column level.

Foundation 4-rail system

Use this aluminium foundation column for the 4-rail system. You dig in this 3.92m-long column and lay it level on the supplied paving stones. The bottom rail of the glass sliding doors can be mounted directly onto this without having to pour concrete.

U profiles

Description

Minimise draughts, rain, weather, flies and mosquitoes under your veranda by combining weather strips with U profiles. You place the U profiles against the sides of the glass sliding door to fill the space between the doors and the support structure or wall. When ordering U profiles, you will receive the corresponding size. Please note; our U profiles have a maximum size of 2600 mm.

When ordering this product, you will receive 2 U profiles with hair to be placed against the wall or against the support structure.

Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door

With a Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door, you can easily close off your veranda while creating a tough, industrial look. The sliding door gives your veranda a unique look and forms an extension of your home. Open the sliding door in good weather or close it on colder days without losing light. This way, you can enjoy all seasons to the fullest.

Measuring
Please refer to the measuring instructions to check whether the Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door suits your situation. You will also find the exact dimensions of the aluminium profiles here.

Foundation
For the foundation of the Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door, Tuinmaximaal recommends also ordering aluminium foundation columns. Are you not using foundation columns? Then make sure you have a foundation at least 10 cm wide and 10 cm deep that is completely level and can support at least 390 kg per linear metre.

Assembly
The Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door is easy to install under verandas, extensions, balconies and carports. Close both the front and sides of the veranda as desired. To install the sliding door on the sides of Gumax® verandas, you will need the 8° wedges for sliding doors. These can be found in the separate parts. The Steel Look strips attach easily to the glass panels thanks to the measuring tool and the powerful 3M tape. Finish the end of the frame neatly with the supplied end caps. Please note that the Steel Look glass sliding door cannot be combined with door handles, decorative strips, or weather strips.

U profiles
Seal any space between the glass panel and the wall or support structures with U profiles. This allows you to neatly finish your veranda with sliding door. Do you have a 6.06-metre-wide Gumax® veranda with a 6-track rail system at the front? Then it is necessary to install U profiles so that the doors fit perfectly to the support structures.

Package contents
Tuinmaximaal will deliver your Gumax® Steel Look glass sliding door to you as a complete construction kit. All necessary materials are included, think screws and matching bits. With the help of the supplied paper manual and the online assembly video, you can get started right away. If you assemble the sliding door according to the steps in the manual, you will retain your warranty. You will receive the Steel Look strips as standard as a 4-plane division. If you wish, you can change it to a 3-plane division yourself.
