The days are slowly getting shorter and the temperature is dropping. Autumn is in full swing and the temperature is still pleasant outside. So this is the perfect time to winterise the garden. Look after your lawn, prune and take good care of your garden furniture. This way, you will enjoy your own garden this autumn and next year.

Take care of your lawn
October is the last month of lawn mowing. Set your cutting height slightly higher than normal, about 5 centimetres. This is because longer grass is stronger and can handle low sunlight better. Then clean the mower and put it in the garage, so it will be ready come spring.
Fertilise grass preferably in autumn. This improves soil quality and creates a nice deep-rooted, dense turf. Also make sure to rake the leaves from the lawn regularly. This helps the lawn get enough air and light and prevents moss growth.
Prune where necessary
Autumn cleaning also includes pruning. Do you have a beech hedge, yew or boxwood? Prune them as desired and neatly
